Orange Business Services acquires the operations of Data & Mobiles

This acquisition is a core component of Orange Business Services’ “Machine-to-Machine” (M2M) strategy, enabling the group to meet companies’ fleet management needs, in France and internationally, as well as telemetry requirements.

France Telecom announces the acquisition of the operations of Data & Mobiles, a company specialized in developing and operating fleet management and telemetry solutions. The Data & Mobiles acquisition strengths furthers Orange Business Services goals to provide real-time business solutions for companies in France and internationally.

The vehicle management-related services and merchandise tracking is a key factor of Orange Business Services’ growth acceleration.

With the acquisition of Data & Mobiles, Orange Business Services wishes to:

leverage its indirect sales network in France and internationally to extend sales coverage on the M2M market;
capitalise on the development capacity and openness of Data & Mobiles’ application platform to create new M2M services such as telemetry;
consolidate its ability to develop and implement fleet management solutions using the Data & Mobiles service platform;
consolidate its position as a fleet manager with over 20,000 equipped vehicles in France.

Data & Mobiles is a non listed company specialized in the development of application platforms which also manufactures communicating on-board devices. Data & Mobiles is one of the French market leaders in its field.

Data & Mobiles operations and all its employees are joining Data & Mobiles International, a subsidiary 100%-owned by the Silicomp Group, a member of the France Telecom group specialising in developing on-board industrial applications.
